A Moving Image

A Moving Image is a dance duet that investigates the impact of capitalism on the body. It explores how image consumption has usurped the corporality of the human desire for social connection and communication. The performance features one dancer replicating the movements of the other, serving as a reflection on how photos and images of real life are inextricably bound with everyday technology and commerce. This real-time movement replica frames what could be considered the time signature of our contemporary attention spans and threshold for human connection outside of the digital realm.

A Moving Image was developed with support from NYU Artist Development Program for Dance.
